Operations tools

The tools described in this section have been designed to manipulate and copy existing nodes.

Add Objects to Group (Shortcut G)

Used to add nodes to an existing group which can be toggled between visible and hidden.
Important note:
You need to create a group first before you can use the tool. Click the Plus- Icon to create a new group. Groups can be added in the expanded Group Manager. From the row of group tool buttons you can Add, Delete or Edit a group. Besides the usual show / hide, you can also lock / unlock a group from editing, add or removing objects. The Groups table will now display whether it’s visible, locked, contains objects, and the group color (the default is black).
Group items that are relevant to the pattern to be made later in detail or that are not relevant that can be hidden when creating the detail. Keep the drawing board tidy while drafting.
Click on the first item and, while holding down the ctrl key, select all the other items to be included in the group (or drag over all the items to select a lot of items).

Press enter when done to complete the selection and select the group where you want to add the nodes

You can see the nodes you added to the group.

Below the Groups table is a objects list, which will display a list of the objects in the selected group. Double clicking on an object will Zoom to that object. Specifically - if it’s a point it will zoom to the point. If it’s an Arc / ElArc it will zoom to the center point. If it’s a line or curve it will zoom to the first point - usually the first point in the object name. Also if the object is hidden, the group’s visibility will be changed to show - even if it’s locked - so that the object is visible when zoomed to. The only exception to this (at this time) is with the operation tools such as move, rotate, mirror & dart.

Using the context menu on the objects list allows you to remove or move an object to another group.

You can add/remove nodes manually by right clicking on the nodes

The visibility of a group can be toggled by clicking on the Eye - Icon. By managing your nodes in groups you

Drag the selection around until they are in the general direction where you’d like the rotated to and enter the precise angle or formula.
  • Rotation pt: Selected rotation point
