Mac OS, sélect Seamly2D->Preferences from the top bar menu.

Configuration[edit | edit source]

Select the Configuration icon in the left vertical menu.

Save[edit | edit source]

  • Auto-save modified pattern Interval: Seamly2D's default auto-save setting will save your pattern file every minutes to a file named after your pattern file with '.autosave' as postfix. We recommend you leave this option selected because this prevents you from losing your data after a crash.

Language[edit | edit source]

Seamly2D's default language setting will use your computer's operating system region/locale to select a language. If none of the supported languages match your locale, Seamly2D will default to English.

  • GUI Language: Select a language. Seamly2D translates GUI text and measurement names into this language. Requires Seamly2D restart. If your preferred language is not listed, consider helping us to translate Seamly2D to your language. Just register at www.transifex.com to help with the translation.
  • Decimal Separator parts: Select the decimal separator you want to use in formulas ("," or "."). By default Seamly2D uses the separator of the current locale. Note: You can't use both separators in a formula at the same time.
  • Default Unit: Centimeters (cm), Millimeters (mm) or Inches (in) that will be used each time you create a new measurements file in Tape.
  • Label language: Select a language. Seamly2D will use the alphabet for this language to auto-generate the pattern point labels.

Pattern making system[edit | edit source]

  • Pattern making system: If you select a patternmaking system, the measurement template for that system will be used to pre-select measurements when you create a new measurement file.Note: It is not necessary to select a pattern making system, you may leave this blank. This option allows Fashion Design students to select their course's pattern making system, find the book for the system, create measurement files for that system, and enter formulas from the book using the measurement names of that system. This way Seamly2D can assist students who are learning patternmaking. Students can quickly learn the measurement set and formulas, and try out the system in software before making (many) mistakes on paper!
  • Author and Book: These fields are auto-populated when a pattern making system is selected.

Send crash reports[edit | edit source]

  • Send crash reports (recommended): We recommend that you leave this box checked. Crash reports help us to find and fix problems very quickly.

User[edit | edit source]

  • User Name: Create a user name. This option will be more important when collaborative team features are added in future.

Graphical output[edit | edit source]

  • Use antialiasing: Check box is selected by default. We recommend using anti-aliasing. Read more about anti-aliasing on Wikipedia.

Undo[edit | edit source]

  • Count Steps: Default is 0 (unlimited). We recommend leaving at 0 until you learn more about Seamly2D. If your system is slow reduce to 50, then in steps down to 15 for speed improvement. We don't recommend less than 15.

User Defined Materials[edit | edit source]

  • Delete All: For future use.

Workpiece[edit | edit source]

  • Forbid Flipping: Default is un-checked. This setting prevents pattern pieces to be flipped or reversed during the creation of the layout image. When a pattern piece is reversed, the labels will not be reversed. This can be confusing when placing pattern pieces on fabric. This setting can also be applied to each pattern piece in Details mode.
  • Show Second passmark on seamline: Default is un-checked. Check this box if you create patterns without seam allowances so that passmarks will be included in the layout image. This setting can also be applied to each pattern piece in Details mode.
