You click on the point where you'd like the line to start and 2 other points between which, you'd like the line to intersect at a 90° angle. In the images below, a new point was created (A13) and the line goes from A10 to A13.

===Point - Intersect Line and Axis (Shortcut L, X)===
===[[File:Gt00010.jpg|50px]] Tool Point intersect line and axis===
{|
First, you need to select 2 points along a line (that you'd like a line to end in line with) and then the point that you'd like to draw the line from. You will need to set the angle. I set the base line in the image below, to be from A2 to A14, the end line to be A12 and the angle at 265°. This placed a point (A14) between A2 and A14 and drew a line between A14 and A12. The degree of the angle extends from A12.

===[[File:Gt00011.jpg|50px]] Tool True darts===
|
As you know, when you have cut out your pattern and begin to sew, the edges of the darts are out of line if you only use the base line to create the dart. Allowances need to be made for the shift of the seam before cutting the fabric. This tool is meant to help you with that.

Select the line where you'd like to place a dart - A9 to A12. Then select the points of the dart - A17, A16 & A18. New points A19 & A20 are created and you may now draw your line from A9 to A19 to A16 to A20 and to A13 to get the perfectly fitted dart.

This one works exactly like the 2nd tool above except that it will automatically take the current line length and divide it by 2 and place a point at that place (A21) - unless you change the formula.

Point tools

Tools described in this section designed to allow create point at some conditions. Such conditions can be different, for example distance or angle, parents positions and etc.

Point - Lenght and Angle (Shortcut L, A)

Create a new node with a distance and angle away from another node
Click a node, move away in the general direction and distance, and click again to create the node. Open the Options to edit the details
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • Base point: Starting point
  • Lenght: You can define a fixed lenght or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values
  • Angle: You can define a fixed angle or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - On Line (Shortcut O, L)

Create a new node at a distance from one point along a line between two points
Click two nodes and enter the distance from the first node that you’d like the new node to be placed.

You may place a node beyond the second node as well – it doesn’t need to be between the two nodes.

  • Name: Name of the new node
  • First point: Starting point
  • Second point: End point
  • Lenght: You can define a fixed lenght or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - Midpoint On Line (Shortcut Shift+O, Shift+L)

Create a new node in the middle between two points
Click two nodes. This tool is a shortcut for the above mentioned tool. You still can change the lenght manually
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • First point: Starting point
  • Second point: End point
  • Lenght: You can define a fixed lenght or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - On Perpendicular (Shortcut O, P)

Create a new node perdendicular (at an 90° angle) to a line
Click the node where you’d like to measure from and another node. Enter the distance and a rotation.

This is very handy when you wish to square off from a particular point.

  • Name: Name of the new node
  • First point: Starting point
  • Second point: End point
  • Lenght: You can define a fixed lenght or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values
  • Rotation: You can define a fixed angle or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values. A rotation of 180° will flip the line on the other side.
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - On Bisector (Shortcut O, B)

Create a new node at an angle bisector between 3 points and a given length
Click the nodes in order where the second node is where the line will be measured from. Press enter and enter the distance.
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • First point: First point to determine the angle
  • Second point: Mid point and startpoint of the new node
  • Third point: End point to determine the angle
  • Lenght: You can define a fixed lenght or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - Length to Line (Shortcut P, S)

Create a new node along a line at a distance from an axis node
First select a starting point from which your length will be measured. Than select two points of a line. The new node will be created on the extention of your selected line.
Important note:If the given length is to short the resulting point will be the same as the last point of theline you selected
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • First point: First point of the line to extend. It's the second point you selected
  • Second point: Second point of the line to extend. It's the third point you selected
  • Third point: Starting point of a virtual line with your given length. It's the first point you selected
  • Lenght: You can define a fixed lenght or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values.
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - Intersect Arc and Line (Shortcut A, L)

Create a new node along a line at a distance from an axis node
This tool is similar to above mentioned tool Point - Length to Line.

First select to points of a line to create a virtuel axis. Than select the centerpoint of a circle and define the radius. A new node will be created at the crosspoint of the axis and the radius. First select a starting point from which your length will be measured. Than select two points of a line. The new node will be created on the extention of your selected line.

Important note:If the radius is to small no point will be created. This could break your design if you rely on the created node for further tool.
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • Center of arc: Center point of arc. The radius will start from this point. It's the third point you selected
  • 1st line point: Starting point of the line to extend. It's the first point you selected
  • 2nd line point: Endpoint of the line to extend. It's the second point you selected
  • Radius: You can define a fixed lenght or use formulas for adaptive / calculated values.

Point - Intersect Axis and Triangle (Shortcut X, T)

Create a new node at the apex of a triangle
Click on the first and second nodes of the first axis line and then the first and second points of the second line. A node will be placed to complete a triangle with a 90° angle at the crosspoint along the first axis line
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • 1st axis point: Starting point of the axis. It's the first point you selected
  • 2nd axis point: Endpoint of the axis. It's the second point you selected
  • First point: First point of line (hypotenuse of the triangle). It's the third point you selected
  • Second point: Second point of line (hypotenuse of the triangle). It's the fourth point you selected

Point - Intersect XY (Shortcut X, Y)

Create a new node where two lines would intersect
Click a node vertically placed and then a node horizontally placed. A node will be placed at the intersection
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • 1st point: First point
  • 2nd point: Second point
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - Intersect Line and Perpendicular (Shortcut L, P)

Create a new node at a 90° angle from a node along a line
Click on the base node and then click on the first and second node of a line along which you’d like to place the node
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • Base point: Base point. It's the first point you selected
  • First point: First point of line. It's the second point you selected
  • Second point: Second point of line. It's the third point you selected
  • Attributes: Specify the color, linetype and lineweight of the new node

Point - Intersect Line and Axis (Shortcut L, X)

Create a new node at an angle to an axis node along a line
Click on the first and second nodes of the line and then the axis node. Drag around in the general direction where you’d like to place the node and click. You may change the angle to be more precise
  • Name: Name of the new node
  • Axis point: Base point. It's the third point you selected
  • First point: First point of line. It's the first point you selected
  • Second point: Second point of line. It's the second point you selected
